Anna Mani, a meteorologist born on 23 August 1918 in Peerumedu, Kerala, is known as the Meteorological Woman of India. She graduated in Physics and Chemistry from Madras Presidency College, Chennai in 1939. This is the reason why he reached Imperial College, London in 1945 for further studies in this subject.
While studying in London, she became expert in using herself related to the weather. After completing her studies and training, she returned to India in 1948 and started her first job with the Meteorological Department, she prepared many such instruments that could predict the weather. Not only this, he also wrote many research papers on meteorology and related instruments.
He had many achievements, such as establishing a lab in Bangalore whose work was to measure wind speed and solar energy, in view of his achievements and passion in the field of weather forecast, in 1969 he was appointed as the Deputy Director General of the Indian Meteorological Department. No, he did research on the ozone layer at that time.
In 1976, he retired from the post of Deputy Director of the Indian Meteorological Department. Anna Mani was greatly influenced by Mahatma Gandhi and his thinking, that is why he always used to wear Khadi and Swadeshi clothes. To achieve special achievements in his field, he was given KR in 1987. Awarded the Ramanatha Medal, he breathed his last on 16 August 2001 in Thiruvananthapuram, the capital of Kerala.
